Upgrades to Mt Biondello Tower, Silos, and Mt Maurice to Upgrade speeds for Customers

Upgrades to Wireless Radios for Future Higher  Speed Plans

Dreamtilt continues to upgrade fixed wireless capacity in Gladstone, Yarwun and Beecher.

Our latest upgrades on Mt Biondello Tower, Gladstone Silos,  has already increased speeds for Dreamtilt customers. We will be completing upgrades to Maurice tower very shortly.

We are also bringing online a new tower at One Tree Hill in Gladstone that will service customers we currently cannot reach.

We also have further expansion plans to Boyne / Tannum in the next 2-3 months.

Dreamtilt has been testing higher speed plans with certain customers and business after the radio upgrades and so far the testing has gone well - with more improvements to occur over time.

We still have the NRG stacks to be completed and then we will roll out new plans with higher speeds and competitive pricing for our customers.

Our testing has shown the network is capable of speeds that will exceed most of the nbn FTN in Gladstone - there is exciting times ahead for our Dreamtilt customers....

No Power Is Bad …..

Well guess what. Apparently you need power to run servers, wireless radios and pretty much everything. Not once, but twice now at our main server room and radio tower we had none.

That didn't go so well for us and all our customers. We were just as unhappy as our customers were.

So basically the generator on site that is used to restore power should there be an outage simply didn't work. Nope. Nada. Uh,ah. Really annoying.

The UPS we had on site ran down quickly which took offline all servers, routers, and radio links. We raced to site and restored power as quickly as we could with another temporary generator and power leads. However the outage did affect our servers and bringing them online - so we had to fix those issues which also led to some delays.

Needless to say we got it going. And we learnt alot more about our failure points in our network. And we are fixing them.

We have scheduled the generator to be fixed and re-tested (regularily) with the company that owns and runs the generator. We have also invested in a larger more robust UPS with alarming. We are also re-configuring our systems to allow for faster recoveries and less likely interruptions from power outages.

So - yeh - not great - but what doesn't break you makes you stronger - and this outage will make Dreamtilt stronger as we fix these issues. We have to. Our customers deserve it.

Stormy Start to 2018

Stormy start to 2018 - Thunder, Lightning, and all very Frightening.

Well what a way to start 2018!

With a huge storm and lightning many residents in Gladstone had a wild start to 2018, including us at Dreamtilt.

We were no different to the other telcos in town and whilst most of our customers had no effect, we unfortunately lost some customers due to a power outage on the Silos.

Fortunately we were quick to respond and by late afternoon we had repaired all damage and restored power to the radio equipment on site, much to the delight of many of our customers. We also kept our customers up to date with real time updates as we were repairing the equipment on the Silo's via our Dreamtilt facebook page -

However that was no the only interruption.  There were many customers across Gladstone that had failed wireless routers due to power surges to the equipment (remember - always turn your electrical equipment off during a lightning storm to avoid damage). Fortunately by the next day we had replaced nearly all 20+ failed wireless routers (at no cost to the customers) and had them all back online - faster than the other phone line providers had even begun to post out new equipment to their customers - or organise technicians to check .... in a few weeks ....

So, yes, a very crazy, wild, start to 2018. But, Dreamtilt came through for our customers and restored services as quickly as possible.
