New UPS Installed to improve wireless power
A new APC uninterruptible power supply (or UPS) has now been installed at the Gain Silo wireless tower. The installation took a number of days and investment from Dreamtilt and is a sign of the companies committment to customers following a number of power outages at the site a few months ago.
The new UPS will allow for about 7 - 9hrs backup time on loss of power at the site. This time will be enough to cover the power interuptions that have been seen to the system in the past.
The investment in backup power systems at the site ensures that customers on the wireless broadband network can rest easy knowing that power outages at the site will no longer affect their Internet and VoIP service in the future.
