What is a Filter?

Filters are computer programs which are designed to prevent access to certain types of content which are not suitable for children. It is not a legal requirement to use filters, however, families may find that filters are a useful tool, in addition to direct parental supervision, to screen children's access to unsuitable material on the internet.

How to Obtain a Scheduled Filter

The IIA has compiled a list of scheduled filters. We have listed some of them below. Some of the filters are more suitable for family use while others are intended for businesses. Please note that the filter providers may charge fees for the use of their product.
